stand broke at one foot - opinion: cheap design
"One of the bottom feet of the stand broke. It happened after I had inserted the lens in my eye, when I tried to "unhook" the stand to place it back in its plastic container for its next use. So now the stand is useless - right? Wrong. What I did the next morning was to use the 2 middle dips of the 'M' shape of the stand to firmly wedge it into between the cardboard cover and the base of the cardboard box the Lensbase container originally came in. It can be firmly wedged there for lens insertion use. And indeed it did work - first time. But the product is cheaply made, and those plastic feet are a poor design (I'm an engineer). I'm going to do a search on other sites to see if there is anything better at a reasonable cost. You may contact me to for your input and to see how my search has gone. You don't need to publish this online just as long as you understand the product's limitations. P. S. I believe Dr. Courey is an excellent optometriste. This is not her doing."
