More Details

HYLO® mini offers immediate comfort and protects your eyes from dryness and irritation. The absence of preservatives and phosphates makes HYLO® mini particularly well suited for dry-eye patients, contact lens wearers, and post ocular surgery patients (lasik or cataract). HYLO® mini contains sodium hyaluronate, a citrate buffer, sorbitol and water and can be used for up to 6 months after opening.

How to Use

Step 1: Remove the over-cap and turn the bottle over so the dropper tip points down.

Step 2: Prime the system before first use: Place two fingers on the base and your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle. Press firmly on the base and release. Repeat this several times until the first drop is released. Now the bottle is primed and ready to use.

Step 3: For better control and accuracy, make a base with one hand to support the hand holding the bottle.

Step 4: Lean your head back slightly and gently pull down your lower eyelid.  Press FIRMLY and QUICKLY on the base of the bottle. This enables the bottle to release one single drop into the eye. Release and repeat for the other eye. After each application close your eye slowly to allow the fluid to spread evenly over the eye surface.

Step 5: Ensure that the dropper tip is dry. Replace the over-cap. Avoid any contact between the tip of the bottle and your eye or your skin.

"As the solution was half of normal size, I had thought I was buying a half-sized (purse -sized) product. Was surprised when it arrived to find it was half the solution in a full-sized container. How is HYLO® mini different from HYLO® GEL?

HYLO® contains 1 mg/mL sodium hyaluronate for mild to moderate dry-eye symptoms. HYLO® GEL contains 2 mg/mL and is thicker, for more severe dryness.

Is HYLO® mini a different formula or a smaller bottle?

HYLO® mini has the same formula and physical bottle size as the regular version, with 150 drops instead of 300. Choose mini for a smaller supply when starting out or using drops less often; the regular version gives you more drops for frequent use.

Can I use HYLO® mini with contact lenses?

Yes, you can use HYLO® and its mini format with hard or soft contact lenses if your eye-care professional says you can keep wearing them. If the drops briefly smear your lenses, blinking may clear them.

Why won’t my new HYLO® mini bottle release a drop?

A new bottle needs its pump primed before first use. Hold it with the tip pointing down, press the base firmly, then release. Repeat until the first drop appears. For each dose, press the base firmly and quickly, and don’t let the tip touch your eye or skin.

How long can I use HYLO® mini after opening?

Use HYLO®, including mini, within six months of first use and before the printed expiry date. Write the opening date on the bottle to help keep track.
